The original Our Lady of La Salette statue is made of fine pewter. According to tradition, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to 2 children in the form of a weeping woman sitting on a rock. She wore a headdress with a crown of roses and identified herself as Mary. She complained of the loss of faith in her son and told the children to pray. A spring appeared where she sat with waters that are said to heal the sick. Jeweled Cross La Salette Statues make excellent gifts for the sick.
