St Maria Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938), Feast Oct 5, nun and mystic, originator of the Divine Mercy movement. St Maria Faustina kept a diary in which she recorded the visions which began to visit her frequently after she entered religious life. It was reviewed by the Vatican, declared that it proclaimed God's love and published as 'Divine Mercy In My Soul'. In the 1930's, St Maria received many communications from Jesus, the most important of which was a message of Divine Mercy which He asked her to spread throughout the world. To assist in this mission, the Lord asked that an image be painted of Himself with the inscription 'Jesus I trust in you' and white and red rays of mercy shining from His Sacred Heart. This original, hand-crafted, solid pewter statue is 3 ½" high - perfect for purse, pocket or desk top.
