The beautiful St. Lucy statue features the patron saint of vision holding a plate with eyes. Saint Lucy was raised in a very pious family that held strong to their Christian beliefs despite the threat of persecution. However, Lucy was turned into the Sicilian government by her pagan boyfriend and she was taken into custody. During her captivity, Lucy was tortured and her body was mutilated. Her eyes were removed and she eventually died from stab wounds. She is known for having miraculous powers of healing, particularly problems related to vision.
