The St. Clare statue by Jeweled Cross is made of fine pewter and depicts the saint wearing a robe and holding a monstrance, symbolic of her devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Saint Clare was the founder of the Franciscan Poor Clares, an order that quickly spread throughout Italy, followed by France and Germany. Towards the end of her life, she had a vision of Mass from her sickbed. For that, she became the patroness of television. She is also the patron saint of guilders, glass painters, laundry women and the blind.
