Cruets are small vessels used for containing the wine and water separately, which is required for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Once only made of glass, being the most suitable material because easily cleaned and obvious distinguishing of the water and wine. Now other materials, are used, such as gold, silver, and other precious metals. Shape of the Cruets is not defined, but the vessels should have a good firm base on which to stand securely and a wide neck for easy cleaning. The altar server carries them on a tray to the altar for the Preparation of the Gift and ablution of the chalice after Communion. Great selection of different styles.
